Welcome

Kahnawake was one of the first jurisdictions in the world to recognize the opportunities afforded by the interactive gaming industry. Since then, the Commission has been continuously licensing and regulating a wide range of interactive gaming sites.

On July 8, 1999 the Commission enacted its Regulations concerning Interactive Gaming. As a result it has effectively and successfully regulated interactive gaming longer than almost any other jurisdiction in the world.

Online gaming operators that are licensed by the Commission must be hosted at Mohawk Internet Technologies, a data center located within the Mohawk Territory of Kahnawake and managed by Continent 8 Technologies.

Lori Jacobs

The Kahnawake Gaming Commission was saddened to learn of the passing of its long time Commissioner, and friend: Lori Niioieren Jacobs. Lori was first appointed on June 25, 2008 and continuously held the position of Commissioner since that time. Lori's wise, no-nonsense and insightful contributions helped build the Commission into a better organization. Every decision that Lori made during her tenure as Commissioner had to meet the test, "Is it good for Kahnawake?" She always put the interests of the community first.

Lori was more than a Commissioner; she was also a friend - and frequently a mentor - to everyone in the Commission office. She was a strong Mohawk woman who was admired and respected. We will all miss her.

The Commission sends its sincere condolences to Lori's family and friends.
